Hiiii! It's definitely been a fat minute since I've written something here. Well, it's time to catch up then! Recently, I've been traveling with family, spending time with friends, overcoming some personal obstacles, getting a new job, and so on! Life has been CRAZY this month. Specifically for this blog, I wanted to catch y'all up on my reading so far. Let's be honest....it's been a several months since I began writing about my book journey, so here's some more for ya!

This shouldn't be a surprise but I am currently reading four books right now. Yeah...a mistake maybe?? We will see. Right now, I am reading "A Court of Silver Flames" (last book in ACOTAR series), "On Earth we are briefly gorgeous", "Tender is the flesh (STILL I KNOW), and finally "Everything I know about love". I purposely put myself in a position where when Im reading so much at the same time, I like to space it out as well. So no...Im not THAT crazy. All of these are very different genres and I'm loving that vibe right now. I honestly recommend reading all the books I have listed!

But to get deep in it, I wanted to share my overall thoughts of how I have felt during the end of 2023 and into 2024 with reading. Ever since I can remember, books have been my sanctuary. They've been more than just a source of knowledge or entertainment; they've been a lifeline, a form of therapy that I turn to in both good times and bad. As I reflect on my journey with books, I realize just how profoundly they have impacted my life, shaping my thoughts, emotions, and perspectives in ways I could have never imagined. One of the most therapeutic aspects of reading for me is its ability to transport me to different worlds and perspectives. When I open a book, I step into the shoes of characters who experience life in ways vastly different from my own. This immersion allows me to empathize deeply with their struggles, joys, and triumphs. It's like taking a break from my own reality and gaining new insights that broaden my understanding of the world. I mean, there are times where I get in a slump and such but as of now, it has been such a good distraction. Books have also been a reliable companion during times of loneliness or stress. It's a peaceful escape where I can temporarily set aside my worries and immerse myself in stories that captivate my imagination. Beyond its therapeutic benefits, reading has also been a door to happiness in my life. The excitement of discovering a new author, the anticipation of a sequel to a beloved series, or the satisfaction of finishing a thought-provoking novel—all these moments bring me immense joy. They remind me of the boundless possibilities that exist within the pages of a book and the limitless adventures waiting to be embarked upon. That's so cheesy to say but it's so true. In a world that can sometimes feel chaotic and overwhelming, books provide me with a sense of stability and reassurance. They remind me of the beauty of language, the power of storytelling, and the endless capacity of the human imagination. Each book I read leaves an imprint on my heart and mind, shaping who I am and who I strive to become.

I still have such a long way to go with completing my bookshelf but its been so good taking it slow and enjoying my own pace with it.

That's enough about my little journey, I have a book page if you ever wanna check it out! It's @bookishdayys on instagram. Anyways, take care y'all :)
